Week of March 30th Lessons

Hi Kids!  Here are your lessons for the entire week. Feel free to work ahead on assignments or take extra time if you have a busy day and can't get something done. I want to see your personal best on these assignments, so please do not rush. I would rather you take several days to complete a writing assignment, than to rush through your work and not do your best.  You should be proud of all work that you are turning in to me.

Monday
Reading and Writing:  Read chapter 5 in your book club book.  Summarize the chapter, with at least 8 sentences giving details about the events in the chapter. Try to also include what the characters are thinking and feeling and how they have changed since the beginning of the story. *Submit through Office 365
Math:  Do Day 1 of your next Math 4-square page
           Watch math mini-lesson here:  https://learnzillion.com/lesson_plans/6121-recognize-shape-attributes/
On a sheet of paper, make a t-chart with one side labeled “Quadrilaterals” and one side labeled “Not Quadrilaterals”.  Draw at least three shapes in each column that fit the category.
Content: Colonization
Read “The Middle Colonies” article in your Week 16 of Georgia Weekly Studies Newspaper.

Tuesday
Reading:  Log onto Read Theory.  Read two passages and take two quizzes.  Your goal is to make a 100%. I will check your scores, so no need to submit anything here.

Math:  Do Day 2 on your math 4-square week . Then, Log in to Cobb Digital Library using the Kemp Homepage.  You will sign in using your Office 365 username and password.  Go to Brain Pop Jr. and in the search box, type quadrilaterals.  Watch the video and complete the quizzes.  Assignment: When you finish the quizzes, complete the draw it activity.

Content: Colonization
Go back to your “Middle Colonies” article from Georgia Studies Weekly Week 16.  Do boxes and bullets on this article on a piece of paper.  Can you tell someone about the four middle colonies in your own words?  If not, reread the article!

Wednesday and Thursday (lots of writing, so I’m giving you two days to complete these assignments)
Reading:  Read chapter 6 of your book club book.  *Submit summary of chapter 6 through Office 365

Math:  Do Day 3 of your math 4-square.  Complete 30 minutes of Zearn.

Content: In Office 365, write a paragraph summarizing what you have learned about the middle colonies. Use the article titled “Portrait of Colonial America” to help you.  Include details about the jobs people had in the three social classes, what the homes were like, what the colonists ate, and what life was like for the children in colonial America.  You can also tell me specific details about the four middle colonies.  This paragraph should be LONG!  There are a lot of details in this article that are important.  * Submit through Office 365

Friday

Writing and Content Combined:  Complete the crossword puzzle and questions 1-6 on the mapping activity on the back page of your Georgia Weekly Studies.   Read the passage titled “Which Stitch Will Make Life Rich?”. Complete the “Let’s Write” assignment that is on the last page of your newspaper.  *Submit through Office 365
