March 22, 2019 Update...

Hi Parents,

Thank  you for visiting today!  Can you believe we only have 8 weeks of school left? This year has flown by and we are focusing on finishing the year strong.  Report cards will be in ParentVue today. If you do not have your Activation Key, you will have to physically come to the office to get that from Mr. Pritz.  I do not have access to your account.  Please check out below to see what we've done this week...

Grammar:  We have reviewed what a noun is in all its forms (plural/singular, common/proper, concrete/abstract, and personal possessive nouns).

Reading:  We worked on several constructed responses, and also practiced typing our responses on the laptops without working from a written copy.  We practiced our context clues work in our read aloud, Horns and Wrinkles.  We learned a new test taking strategy that good readers use, which is not allowing "distractions" from answers to multiple choice questions that sound like they could be correct, but are not.  We practiced covering up the answer choices and predicting how the correct answer will be stated.

Math: We continued our work with identifying quadrilaterals by their attributes. We learned about the three types of angles; right, acute, and obtuse.  We also learned what parallel and perpendicular lines are, as well as what congruent sides are.

Writing:  We worked on applying correct conventions when typing a response.

Class News...

Report Cards will be released today!

Starting soon, I will be putting some letter and percentage grades on work. This will ease the transition into fourth grade.

Your child's Reading Inventory report came home this week. Math Inventory reports will come next week.
